3/17/2024 0 Comments Ms word reflow textI've been really happy with all the cool features of vim but text reflow has been the most frustrating part. To make things look nice again, it means I have to copy and paste from the lines below it and this is definitely too much effort when I should be focusing on content. But since my paragraphs are no longer paragraphs, I end up with a disjointed structure where some lines have just two words or so. When typing a report, I sometimes revisit a paragraph, change a few words, maybe add new sentences, etc. ![]() The issue I'm having with this approach is that it makes it really difficult to make modifications to a paragraph. This automatically breaks long sentences into lines of 80 characters or so. I have been trying to find a solution to this problem and the most common suggestion is to set the textwidth to something like 80. How can I add spacing from the text to the edge of the screen and how can I make prevent vim from breaking a word when it wraps around. The first thing that bothers me is that sentences extend to the edge of the screen without any spacing and when a sentence wraps to a new line, it breaks a word instead of moving the whole word instead of just white spacing as all other editors do. This means I have paragraphs that can have more than one line. There are a few things that bother me at the moment that I hope can be solved. And please those of you who deign to grace us with your vim wisdom - be kind.
